Family Commitment
Practices:
Our swim season runs from the beginning of May through the end of June. Swimmers who qualify for the All-Star Meet will practice after our last meet. All practices are approximately 30 minutes for ages 6 and under, and 10 & under, and 1 hour for ages 11 and up.
We DO NOT have practices on the days of swim meets. Practices are not drop off. Parents are expected to stay with swimmers at practice.
Swim Meets:
The summer swim meet season is condensed into 3-4 weeks, with meets almost every Monday and Thursday. At a Home meet, swimmers typically arrive around 5:00 for warm-ups. The actual meet begins at 6 pm and goes until 9-10 pm. Factors affecting the length of a swim meet are weather conditions, the number of swimmers participating, and volunteer participation. Without volunteers, the meet cannot run.
We ask each family to volunteer a minimum of 4 times during the season.
If volunteer commitments have not been fulfilled by the last regular season meet, the swimmer of those parents/ guardians will not be allowed to participate in the All-Star Meet during that season.
Attendance
We want everyone to have a great time while participating in our summer league swim team. We realize that it is "summer". We understand that you might have vacation plans, summer camps, and other outings scheduled, but we hope that you will attend as many practices, meets, and social events as possible.
It is not necessary to alert your coach if you are going to miss a scheduled practice. However, if you cannot attend a meet (or will arrive late/leave early), we ask that you submit this information as early as possible to a coach or our team representative.
Also, families are expected to fulfill their Volunteer Commitment. Please click on the Volunteering tab for further information.
